Back To School Driving Safety

Posted by Lauren Middleton on Jul 26th 2019

July has flown by and before you know it, children will be headed back to school. With all the chaos of getting children on the bus and into school, drivers may forget safety rules that keep children safe. Traffic safety should be a top priority on and off school property. Before sending the kids back to school, read our back to school driving safety tips. Have fun and be safe when heading back to school this year!

1.Watch out for school zone signs and always obey the speed limits.

2.ALWAYS stop for school buses that are picking up or dropping off children.

3.Never pass another driver in a school zone.

4.Don’t text or talk on a mobile phone when driving through a school zone.

5.Watch out for school crossing guards and always obey their signals.

6.When dropping off children, try not to do it on the opposite side of the road from the school

7.Always be on the lookout for children who have strayed from their parents while driving through the school zone.

8.Make sure kids take the time to properly buckle children into their safety belts and car seats before embarking to school.

9.Consider car pooling with other parents to save gas and increase safety.

10.Try not to rush. A lot of accidents occur just because drivers are in a rush and are being careless.
