If you’re still looking for a good Father’s Day gift, we have some great ideas for the dad who loves cars. These ideas are both low cost and creative. Because we are still under certain safety restrictions from COVID-19, some of these ideas can be done at home where you can get the kids involved. Giving dad a gift that is unique and from the heart can be an additional surprise to celebrate their special day.

A Footprint Car Card: Apply some paint to your child’s foot and have step on the front of the card. Have them paint 2 wheels, a steering wheel, roof, and write happy Father’s Day. Viola, a unique car gift that dad can cherish forever. You can view more detailed instructions here.

Dad’s Car Wash Kit: Head over to the dollar store and check out their car care section for some low cost items to clean dad’s car. Purchase a large bucket to hold the items which can double as a washing bucket. Some things you will want to include are microfiber towels, soap, sponges, tire shine, an air freshener, and wax. You can even make it more personable by having your child make a waterproof sticker for it that says something like “Daddy’s Car Wash Kit”.

A car themed photo frame: You can take a picture of dad’s favorite ride and create a home-made frame for it. This can be done with hot glue and materials such as wrenches and small toy matchbox cards. Just make sure you handle the hot gluing yourself as it can be dangerous for little ones. They should be more than happy to pick the cars and place them in the right spot on the frame. Check out more ideas here.

A personalized key chain: Kids love working with beads. For an easy gift that they can make, head to a craft store, and pick some beads with letters on them. You will also have to purchase a key chain ring. Leave it up to your child as to what they want to spell but “I love dad” and dad’s name are usually sufficient. You can always buy a car charm to attach to the end.

A Hot Wheels Father’s Day Card: Let your child go with you to the store and pick out a special Hot Wheels car. Have them take a piece of card stock, draw tire marks, and add the text that says, “I wheelie love you Dad”. You can then carefully glue the car to the card stock.

If all else fails, you can always have dad fill out a special wishlist
