The trails host a variety of elevation choices that are light to moderate. Just keep in mind that you might be sharing the trail with people on dirt bikes and horses. If you enjoy peaceful and scenic trails, Pachaug is for you.

Best Massachusetts Jeep Trail

Cape Cod National Seashore, Cape Cod, MA: This is one of the best places in the United States to practice oversand driving. You will have to obtain a pass from the park service to bring your Jeep onto it and to get the pass you will need the proper safety equipment and correct tire sizes. You’ll also have to get your Jeep inspected at The Race Point Beach Permit Station. Keep in mind that driving in sand can be more challenging than driving in mud or dirt.

Baker Trail, Pascoag RI: This trail starts in Connecticut but ends in Rhode Island. The trail is a mix of rocks and mud but is not too challenging. You can also branch off Baker Trail and try Center Trail which crosses it. The terrain is varied and can be worse in the spring due to water and mud. Keep an eye out for ATVs and hikers.

Best New Hampshire Jeep Trail

Field and Forest Recreation Area, Harrisville, NH: This is a wonderful trail; however, it is for the campground’s residents only. If you do decide to camp there and use the trails, they are very well maintained by the campground owners. It is also good to know that the trails are better suited to those who are advanced or expert off roaders.
