Spring is here and, unfortunately, so is a pandemic. Many people in the United States are unfortunately out of work right now and therefore, are taking time to do some spring work on their vehicles. Even if the winter was mild, it could have still taken a toll on your car. Cold and wet weather can leave a car damaged in ways that are not immediately visible to the human eye. When the pandemic dies down, you will probably be ready and raring to go places. Before you hit the road though, here is a spring auto care checklist.

1.Check your wiper blades thoroughly. Though it was a mild winter, there was still a lot of freezing rain and ice. The ice can damage the blades as well as you chipping ice from them. Check them out and change them. You don’t wanted to be blindsided by those strong summer thunderstorms and their torrential downpours.

2.Wash and wax your vehicle. Not only will this remove salt and grime from winter but it will make the car easier to wash in the future. This can be very useful when spring pollen starts to fall.

3.Check your tires thoroughly. Colder weather can lead to tires deflating. On the other hand, warmer weather can lead to an increase in pressure. Be thorough in checking them and make sure you have safe and correct pressure.

4.Check out the car for paint damage. Stones from winter road sand can easily leave a small scratch in your paint. Though the scratch is small, any moisture that gets in can start long term rust damage.

5.Make sure your air conditioning is in good working order. The weather tends to warm fast in the spring season so get ahead of the game and make sure your AC is working well. Checking that the AC is working early can help you avoid headaches while waiting for an appointment in the busy summer season.
